Liberalisation and listings elevate China's first billionaires on to rich lists

Since China's rich lists were first published five years ago, the existence of millionaires in a nominally communist country has become all but commonplace.

But this is not the case for billionaires, who this year made it on to the two leading lists, published by Euromoney and, yesterday, Forbes, in significant numbers for the first time.
