Beijing finds probing deals is to its taste

Any doubts that China’s revamped antitrust regime would not punch its weight have been laid to rest.

The laws came into force on the eve of last August’s Beijing Olympics and competition authorities soon showed a willingness to probe merger deals involving leading companies.
