GM seeks partners for its European marques

General Motors on Wednesday said it was considering selling an equity stake in, or seeking outside partners for, its Opel and Vauxhall brands amid rising concern among governments and its employees around Europe over the US automaker’s fate.

This came as Sweden’s government again ruled out nationalising the Saab unit after its struggling parent said on Tuesday that without its help, the subsidiary could file for reorganisation “as early as this month”.
