Honduras police break up pro-Zelaya rally

Honduran security forces, backed by armoured cars firing water cannon and launching tear gas, broke up a crowd of hundreds of supporters welcoming back Manuel Zelaya, the deposed president, on Tuesday. There were no immediate reports of injuries or arrests.

The crowds had gathered outside the Brazilian embassy in Tegucigalpa, where Mr Zelaya is holed up following his surprise return on Monday almost three months after he was deposed by a coup.
