A UN court convicted former army colonel Theoneste Bagosora on Thursday of genocide in Rwanda in 1994 and sentenced him to jail for life.
The decision represents the first time the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, based in Tanzania, has convicted anyone of organising the killings.
