Microsoft to build European research hubs

Microsoft on Thursday announced that it would build three European research hubs in London, Paris and Munich as part of a new search technology centre as the software company attempts to make inroads into Google’s European business.

The move comes as the company starts to build a post-Yahoo strategy for its online search engine, following the failure of its $44bn bid in July.
