Exporter reacts to ‘yo-yo’ kiwi

Fisher & Paykel, a New Zealand maker of home appliances, is moving three of its domestic assembly lines to Thailand.

The relocation, combined with that of four other assembly lines to North America over the past 18 months, will slash Fisher & Paykel’s New Zealand workforce by a third, or 700 jobs.
