Peshawar suicide bombing kills 25

At least 25 people were killed and up to 40 injured in a suicide bomb blast in north-west Pakistan yesterday, prompting fears of a renewed Islamist militant campaign to destabilise the country.

No one claimed responsibility but senior Pakistani officials said the attack was most likely to have been the work of al-Qaeda through a local affiliate group.
