BT seeking increased landline use charges

BT signalled its determination to charge rivals more money for renting its landlines for the supply of phone and broadband services, as it reported annual results in line with expectations.

Ian Livingston, incoming chief executive of the UK’s leading fixed-line telecommunications group, on Thursday said regulators should back an increase in the rental charges paid by companies such as Carphone Warehouse for wholesale services.
