Nat Express pulls out of Stagecoach talks

National Express, the debt-laden bus and rail operator, has rejected talks with rival Stagecoach over a possible merger and will press ahead with a rights issue.

The announcement follows weeks of speculation over a possible tie-up that would have created a transport group with an estimated market value of £1.7bn.
