Call to delay Dutch energy groups’ sale

The leading Dutch business confederation called on the government on Thursday to halt the imminent sales of the country’s biggest power utilities to Germany’s RWE and Sweden’s Vattenfall.

The confederation, VNO-NCW, rejected suggestions that it was fuelling protectionism, saying there was no level playing field since other European countries had not gone as far as the Netherlands in opening up their energy markets.
