Stalled housing projects take off

Building work stalled by the recession is to restart on 740 homes in 10 locations, the first fruits of a government scheme to stimulate housebuilding by funding developers who cannot raise money elsewhere.

John Healey, housing minister, is to announce the release of the first £10m from the £1.5bn Housing Pledge programme during a visit to one of the projects in a deprived area of Liverpool.
