Since Warren Buffett took the reins at Berkshire Hathaway in 1964, the former textile manufacturer turned conglomerate has bought companies big and small around the world.

From jewellery stores to homebuilders, the Sage of Omaha has rarely made a bad investment.

The table (sortable by column title) detail his purchases large and small. It does not include his equity stakes in companies or rescue investments, like his $5bn stake in Goldman in 2008.
