DMA trading begins to gain ground in Asia

Direct market access, which allows fund managers and other institutions to buy and sell shares using brokers’ computers as if they were traders, looks set for rapid growth in Asia after establishing itself in North America and Europe.

The first DMA trade in India was done in July. The country was a relative latecomer as even relatively small markets such as Vietnam beat them to it. The Philippines, Pakistan and China are the main lag-gards.
