Appetising openings beyond commodities

As the prices of commodities such as wheat, corn, and soyabeans slip from record highs investors are beginning to look for other opportunities in the sector, and the focus is moving to companies involved in food and agriculture.

“A lot of fund managers realise commodities have had a good run in the past 18 months and now there is concern this will not continue in the long term,” says Jean-Marc Debricon, head of structuring at Rabobank, the Dutch agribusiness co- operative bank.
