Xinwen Mining buys Australian coal assets

Xinwen Mining Group has agreed to pay A$1.5bn for coal exploration permits in Australia in a deal that underlines China’s continued interest in Australia’s resources sector.

Xinwen will acquire the Teresa licences from Linc Energy, the Australia-listed group whose shares rose 43 per cent to A$4.35 on Friday.
