Berry boost for Akers

The health-boosting properties of the acai berry has helped rejuvinate turnover at Akers Biosciences, the diagnostics maker, after a licensing partner paid $3m to include one of the company’s tests with a healthfood it is marketing.

The deal has helped compensate for a fall in revenues from the US military, Akers’ largest single customer.
