Iran 'steps up uranium enrichment'

Iran resumed sensitive nuclear work this week, just as the world's big powers presented it with an offer aimed at halting such activities, according to the United Nations' nuclear watchdog.

A report by Mohamed ElBaradei, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, says that Tehran has just increased the scale of uranium enrichment, the most sensitive part of its nuclear programme, after scaling it back two months ago.
