African Development Bank embroiled in audit dispute

The African Development Bank has failed to get its accounts approved unconditionally for the first time in its history following a dispute with its auditor Deloitte.

The international accountancy firm was forced to ?qualify? its opinion on the AfDB?s accounts because the bank refused to apply an accounting rule that it says would misrepresent its financial position.
