Scotland confirms first British swine flu victim

Glasgow on Sunday reported the first death in Britain from swine flu, just three days after the World Health Organisation raised the status of the virus to a pandemic.

The Scottish government confirmed the death of a patient with “underlying health conditions”, who was one of 10 people being treated in hospital in the greater Glasgow area.
