Weak oil keeps Europe under pressure

European shares slid over the week, with energy stocks coming under pressure from fears of slowing demand.

The FTSE Eurofirst 300 ended off 0.9 per cent in a week. On Friday, however, the index gained 0.2 per cent, or 2.56 points, closing at 1,195.01.
