Nigeria: Hardest hit state puts funding model to the test

Nigeria has launched a big offensive in the global war against malaria with a plan to spend $1.2bn on the largest treatment and prevention campaign ever undertaken in Africa.

The government and donors plan to shut down one of the world’s great engines of the epidemic by rolling out the first nationwide plan to provide access to bed nets and medicines to the vast majority of the population of 140m.
