Reg Vaughan, former chief sub-editor in the Financial Times’s UK company news section, was an inspirational leader in his more than 30 years in the department, a period of huge change in FT coverage of corporate news.
Vaughan, who has died aged 65, was also a mentor to editors, sub-editors and reporters, instilling in them the overriding importance of accuracy and a love for the detail of the subject.
