Number of women entrepreneurs rises globally

Total numbers of women entrepreneurs are increasing worldwide but men in high-income countries are still nearly twice as likely as women to start new businesses.

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, based on survey data from more than 107,400 respondents in 35 countries, found that while there was a substantial gender gap in entrepreneurial activity in wealthy nations, the gender disparity in middle-income countries was narrower.
