Populists parties set to shine in Lithuania poll

Lithuanians will vote on Sunday in a general election that could propel populist parties back to power and put the small Baltic state on a collision course with the European Union.

In an almost invisible election campaign hampered by a strict advertising ban, populist parties are benefiting from concerns over inflation, falling economic growth and neighbouring Russia’s new assertiveness.
