Banks told to give the poor a better deal

Banks should stop treating poorer customers who want to open basic bank accounts like "second class citizens", a powerful Commons committee has concluded.

A Treasury select committee investigation into financial inclusion has concluded some banks do not allow basic bank account holders access to branch counters.
