Well-connected Close Brothers' support services banker Peter Alcaraz is raking leaves and planting bulbs for the spring as he takes six months' gardening leave before he moves to boutique advisory Gleacher Shacklock.

Will Thompson , who joined Close Brothers from Morgan Stanley in March, takes his place as head of the support services team.
