Macquarie lands offer for stake in airports

Macquarie was deciding yesterday whether to sell its interest in Rome's airports for about €1.2bn ($1.6bn), ending its biggest airport investment and signalling another high-profile withdrawal from Italy of a foreign investor.

The Australian bank has been at odds with a group of Italians over investment plans at Rome's Fiumicino and Ciampino airports and had been considering attempting to take full control of the facilities itself.
