Burnley football club hero leads counter-attack with rival

Brendan Flood, the property developer who bankrolled Burnley Football Club’s rise to the Premiership, is to join forces with Kevin McCabe, who is chairman of rival Sheffield United, to buy back part of his failed empire from the receivers.

Mr Flood, whose Modus Ventures was put into administration days after Burnley’s promotion, said that the deal with Mr McCabe’s Scarborough Group International would be signed this month.
