Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill are seeking to rein in Kevin Martin, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission who is seeking to expand the media regulator’s authority over the cable industry.

More than 20 Republicans from the House of Representatives sent a letter to Mr Martin on Monday calling his proposal “misguided” and “harmful”.
