GM eager to secure Opel-Vauxhall stake sale

General Motors’ chief executive said on Friday that the newly restructured carmaker was working “round the clock” to agree the sale of a stake in its European Opel-Vauxhall arm by the end of this month.

Fritz Henderson said the possibility that GM might eventually repurchase some of the Opel shares it is selling to outside investors was not a crucial element in the talks.
