Lewis focuses on Alphameric

Joe Lewis, the Bahamas-based investor who has just won a seat on the board of the Mitchells & Butlers pub group, is in discussions with Alphameric for similar representation at the gaming technology company.

Mr Lewis’s Mayfair Capital investment vehicle has built a 26.2 per cent stake in Alphameric, whose joint venture with UK racecourses operates the Turf TV racing channel. Mayfair Capital voted unsuccessfully to unseat Alan Morcombe as chief executive at Alphameric’s annual meeting in April.
