Creative industries feature high on most city’s wishlists and Liverpool is no different – but it has at least provided plenty of evidence that there is a creative streak in the city’s DNA. Its successes range from the obvious musical talents of the 1960s, through a later generation of television writers such as Phil Redmond and Alan Bleasdale, to leading figures in computer games development.
Technology continues to allow a fertile crossover between creative sectors and information technology and Liverpool has ambitions to become a leading centre for all kinds of digital industries. It expects high growth from companies in the sector and is devoting resources to their incubation.
