There is one, perhaps unlikely, interloper in the global top 10 for “brand contribution” that is otherwise filled entirely by the big names from the luxury sector – the likes of Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Hennessy.
It is Tide, the world’s biggest laundry detergent brand, manufactured by Procter & Gamble and recognisable worldwide by its distinctive orange and yellow bull’s-eye logo.
