Deloitte grew the fastest of the Big Four accounting firms last year as booming advisory businesses countered slowing growth in their core audit market.

On Monday KPMG was the last of the four to report with revenue growth of 11 per cent to £1.6bn ($3.2bn). This narrowly missed Deloitte’s 12 per cent growth to £1.7bn, adjusted to remove the inclusion of its Swiss firm. PwC, the biggest of the four with fee income of £2.1bn, was the slowest grower at 6 per cent while Ernst & Young earned £1.3bn – an 8 per cent rise.
