Unions win backing on stronger rights for agency staff

Ministers suffered an embarrassing defeat after conference voted in favour of union calls for stronger employment rights for agency workers.

Union leaders and the party's national executive also remained at loggerheads on Monday over the wording of a motion calling for tougher laws on corporate killing.
