A jump in milestone payments has boosted revenues and reduced pre-tax losses at Oxford Biomedica, the biotechnology group.

The company is developing a series of gene-based drugs to combat cancer of the kidney, colon, prostate and pancreas. It is also developing a drug for Parkinsons.
