Rose braces for AGM showdown

Sir Stuart Rose, executive chairman of Marks and Spencer, on Tuesday dismissed a looming showdown with shareholders at the high street chain’s annual meeting on Wednesday as “just a re-run” of past issues.

Sir Stuart said there was little new in the concerns of shareholders who made a strong protest at last year’s meeting over the decision by M&S’s board to merge the roles of chief executive and chairman.
