Morgan Stanley eyes Vietnam venture

Morgan Stanley plans to set up a securities joint venture in Vietnam, after an earlier plan to tie up with the state investment company fell through, industry sources said.

The bank was awaiting regulatory approval for the deal, which could make it one of the first international groups to get into Vietnam’s domestic broking business and help it underwrite initial public offerings more easily, the sources said.
