Dockers at Piraeus port on Wednesday suspended a four-week strike that has delayed the implementation of a concession deal with Cosco Pacific, the Chinese state-owned container operator, after a Greek court ruled the walk-out was illegal.
The rolling 48-hour strikes by about 1,500 employees of Piraeus Port Authority (OLP), the state-controlled port operator, had halted all activity at the container terminal – one of the largest in the eastern Mediterranean.
