Alleged hacker vows to contest US claim

A 39-year-old man, who is being sought by the US authorities for what they allege was the biggest hacking effort into military computers ever detected, was freed on bail following an appearance at Bow Street magistrates court on Wednesday.

Lawyers for Gary McKinnon, who was arrested on Tuesday night in north London, said that he intended to contest the extradition proceedings “vigorously”.
