Aim’s rapid decline has a dire knock-on effect

It is rare that a company whose share price has dropped by 40 per cent since the start of 2008 can call itself a sector leader, but that is the case with Evolution and the mid-sized stockbrokers.

Shares in rivals Arden Partners and Collins Stewart are down 77 and 70 per cent respectively. Each was in takeover talks with overseas buyers earlier this year but they failed to bear fruit.
