A notable culture of development at Plante and Moran, one of the largest US accountancy and business advice firms, is a result of the degree in philosophy held by Frank Moran, one of the firm’s founders. He spent a lot of time in the 1950s in conversation with Professor Harry Levinson, Harvard Business School’s groundbreaking management psychologist.
“He brought a real understanding of human psychology in the workplace,” says Richard Brehler, the firm’s training and education director. Mr Moran had a vision of a firm renowned for its service to clients, and for the working environment it could offer certified public accountants.
