The United Nations on Friday led an international chorus of condemnation of charges brought by Burma’s military junta against Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning democracy advocate.

“I call on the government of Myanmar [Burma] to release Aung San Suu Kyi and her aides unconditionally”, UN human rights envoy Tomas Ojea Quintana said in a statement .
