Co-operative party launches energy initiative

Households and entrepreneurs will be urged to join forces to create new energy co-operatives to buy power more cheaply under an initiative launched on Saturday.

The Co-operative party, which includes 30 Labour MPs, has set up six pilots whereby consumers can team up to procure electricity and gas at wholesale prices.
