Robin Buchanan has stepped down as president of London Business School - he was appointed to the role as recently as January this year when Sir Andrew Likierman, professor of management practice in accounting, replaced him as dean. As president Mr Buchanan’s role was ambassadorial rather than operational.

Mr Buchanan was dean at LBS for barely 16 months and was only the second non-academic to hold the post. He joined LBS from management consultants Bain and Co, where he had worked for almost 25 years, the last 11 years as a senior partner.
