Caution at Turkey inflation data

Turkey’s main stock exchange index rose slightly on Monday and its currency softened as investors reacted cautiously to disappointing inflation data and government plans to loosen fiscal policy.

Turkey’s primary fiscal surplus target for this year has been revised from 4.2 per cent of GDP to 3.5 per cent and further reductions are forecast by 2012.
