Sifiso Mhlongo is waiting for a truck at his workshop. The damaged Freightliner is a large job – costing R300,000 – for his Durban panel beating and repair business.
It is a victory for Mr Mhlongo, the owner of HGM, a truck repair shop on the outskirts of the city, to draw in such a big job. There are very flew black South Africans above the level of worker in the country’s panel beating industry.
