Mugabe calls for end to economic sanctions

Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s president, on Thursday called for an end to western economic sanctions against Zimbabwe and appealed for the country’s friends to “Please come to our aid”.

Mr Mugabe, speaking “on behalf of the inclusive government” established a month ago, was launching an economic policy document with ”total resource requirements in excess of US$5bn”.
