Littlewoods Shop Direct: Putting it all in mail order

The Littlewoods name is one of the most enduring and significant in Liverpool’s commercial history but, along with the city itself, has suffered a period of decline.

Over the past decade the retail and football pools empire built up since the 1920s by the Moores family has been split apart. Littlewoods’ stores have gone from UK high streets, sold for £409m in 2005 to Associated British Foods, owners of the Primark chain.
